MUIR BEACH VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

MBVFD FIREMEN'S BBQ FUNDRAISER

Muir Beach Volunteer Firefighters' Barbecue Celebrates 51 Years!
Sunday, May 25, Memorial Day Weekend

The Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department is thrilled to announce details for the 51st Annual Muir Beach Volunteer Firefighters’ Barbecue on Sunday afternoon of Memorial Day Weekend, May 25, in Santos Meadow near Muir Beach and Muir Woods. Featuring delicious food, fantastic live music, tasty craft beers, premium wine, and a whole lot of fun for the family, the Muir Beach Volunteer Firefighters’ Barbecue is a festive gathering and a favorite Memorial Day weekend tradition in Marin and an essential fundraiser for the Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department. This year’s event is particularly special, as the MBVFD is set to build a brand-new firehouse near the Muir Beach Overlook. Proceeds from the Barbecue will directly support this critical project, ensuring the department is well-equipped to serve the community for years to come.

Live music will keep the energy high all day! Local favorites Lumanation will get the crowd dancing with upbeat reggae music, and then perennial favorites Andre’s All-Stars—featuring top-tier musicians will take the stage and bring classic rock and R&B.

No barbecue is complete without incredible food, and MBVFD has it covered. Muir Beach firefighters and community members will tend to smoky grills. Barbecue chicken, crepes, vegetarian tamale lunches, handmade desserts, sodas, beer, and wine will be available, as will clothing and other items featuring the famous Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department's iconic dog logo. The day concludes with an exciting raffle featuring dozens of incredible prizes, including accommodations, top-tier restaurant gift certificates, and experiences from across the Bay Area and beyond!

Parking is $30 per vehicle, and carpooling is encouraged. Walk-in and bike-in attendees can enter for $10. For more details, visit MuirBeachFire.com or call (415) 235-6458.

About the Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department:

Muir Beach Volunteer Firefighters embody the essence of what makes Muir Beach great: the spirit of community, the willingness to step up and volunteer, and the desire to help others with no expectation for reward other than knowing that their actions make a difference. Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department has been in operation for over 50 years. They are a team of dedicated Muir Beach residents who train to be ready to step forward in emergencies. Whether it's a fire or medical call, they are often first on the scene to respond and offer crucial support to Marin County firefighters. They rely on individual donations and the fundraising support of the community for their ongoing training and equipment needs.

Live Music by André's Allstars!

Ever wonder why the live music at every Muir Beach Volunteer Firefighters BBQ is always so exceptionally good? Chalk it up to André Pessis! Year after year André recruits the musicians that are featured as "André's Allstars." They're André's friends and associates and they're long-time professionals. (Check out their websites!)

The world recognizes André as an Award Winning Songwriter (16 hits and in seven #1 albums), but Muir Beach folks know André as a home-boy...one of the initial Volunteer Firefighters (over 40 years ago)...and a long-time friend of the BBQ that provides most of the money that keeps the Volunteers going.

So that's why the music is so good. Come this year and see for yourself. And put your hands together for André and all his All-Stars. They rock!
